Features of the lodge
A large, modern "post and beam" log cabin, with 3 comfortable bedrooms, 2 full baths, a vaulted great room with a 20 foot ceiling, stone fireplace, large country kitchen, board games, extensive library, CDs and DVDs, jacuzzi, porch swing, 2 car garage, volleyball, horseshoes, croquet, tetherball.
NEW: Now offering free Internet access. The lodge has a laptop computer with a free dialup connection to the internet available for your use.
Features of the land
26 totally private acres. 21 acres of hardwood forest. 5 acres of open prairie set atop a hill. Spring-fed Pedlar's Creek.Hundreds of species of plants, trees, birds. Billions of stars at night. More than 2 miles of private trails for hiking, skiing and snow-shoeing.
3 Bedrooms:
There are three bedrooms, all on the second floor. Two have queen size beds. The third bedroom has a full size bed. The master bedroom also has a comfortable sitting area with a settee and chair. All bedrooms have ceiling fans & seriously luxurious bedding. After you settle in to these beds, you may just want to stay there during your whole stay. Oh, and did we mention the terry-cloth robes?
2 Bathrooms:
The upstairs full bathroom has a 2-person Jacuzzi and three small skylights. The downstairs full bathroom has an oversize tiled mosaic shower, and a double vanity. Plush towels and soaps are provided.
Modern Kitchen:
The kitchen is fully equipped with a new electric range, full-size refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, and garbage disposal. Dishes, pots & pans, silverware, etc. are all provided. However, the pantry will be empty upon your arrival (except for coffee and tea
and spices) - so you should bring any groceries you might want with you. We provide dish soap, dish towels, garbage bags, basic spices, coffee, cream, sugar, popcorn, and a gas barbecue grill for outdoor grilling. |

Great Room:
The vaulted post and beam ceiling is light-filled and airy, boasting a stone hearth at one end and a wall of windows at the other. Here you'll find a couple hundred books - some a century old, others as new as the most recent best seller. Also board games, and a tv with DVD/VCR. We stock a few
dozen movies but you can always bring your own. A dining table with 6 chairs is in the great room, and can be expanded to seat more.
Entry Room:
This may become your favorite room. Light floods into this room, and a nook with two bent-wood chairs provide a sweet spot for reading, conversation, or gazing into the garden. There's a desk, a lot of open space for hanging out or deploying your stuff. We've stashed a lot of helpful information in binders and baskets, so you can easily find your way to restaurants and attractions in the area. |
